The fermentation process that produces the ethanol also releases carbon dioxide. With 600,000 tons of grain fermented annually in our refinery, a considerable amount of carbon dioxide is released. Since it is carbon dioxide that is part of the natural cycle, it is not added to the atmosphere. In our case, however, we capture the carbon dioxide and deliver it directly, via pipes, to our neighbor AGA-Linde, which liquefies it into carbonic acid. In this way, we are not only Sweden's largest producer of ethanol and protein animal feed, but also Sweden's largest supplier of green carbon dioxide/carbonic acid! There will be enough bubbles to fill all the carbonated drinks sold throughout the country!
